HYPER LIGHT

Licences

One console, one licence, your rig

Every tier is the whole product — every studio, show saving, the mapper. The tiers differ in term and in how many DMX universes the console sends. Every installation starts with a 14-day evaluation of everything.

Already have an activation key?

Bind it to your console's machine code and the signed licence is issued at once.

What is a machine code?

Three hashes of your console's processor, board and system disk, with a check character. Two of the three must match, so replacing one part keeps your licence.

Do I need the internet on stage?

No. The licence is verified on the machine at every launch. When a network is there, the console can pick up a renewed term; when it is not, nothing changes.

What happens when a term ends?

At the next launch the console stops saving shows and sends on universe 1 until it is renewed. A show that is running is never cut.

How many universes can I really use?

Sixteen universes have been proved byte for byte on the wire (Phase 56). A licence for 32 or 64 lets the console send that many; proving them on a real network at that size is still ahead of us.

When do the universes change?

At the next launch: the console decides its universes once, when it starts, so a running show is never cut.

Can I move a licence?

A licence is bound to one machine. Ask us to release the seat and bind the new machine code.
